OK, so there’s some babble going on over at The BBA Today podcast about how Chicago’s the hottest team in the league but isn’t getting any attention and how its pitching is one of the best-kept secrets in the BBA.
To which we say: Are you guys crazy? You can’t say that kinda stuff out loud. The gods of OOTP will hear, and then what’ll happen? Righteous retribution is what will happen: fire and brimstone, the dead rising from their graves, dogs and cats living together. You know, real Old Testament (if not Ghostbusters) crap.
So c’mon, fellas. We’re trying to keep this under wraps. We know it can’t last. You know it can’t last. All God’s children know it can’t last … for one simple reason:
We're the Chicago freakin' Black Sox.
We’ve still got four games left against Louisville this year. And, even worse, six games left against {{gag}} Des Moines, so you do the math. If it comes out to anything other than 1-9 or 0-10, do it again.
‘Cause that’s how we roll - and it ain't no secret.
