San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic – The slow start has come back to bite ‘em.
The San Pedro de Macoris Green Sox broke from the gate with a 3-11 start, and have never really recovered. Now, although they’ve playing well of late, there’s only three weeks left in the year for the Short Season A Level teams, and the Sox are probably too far back to be considered much of a threat.
Still, they put together a 6-1 record in Week 9 and pulled themselves into third place in the SL2 Big Islands Division, 7 games behind first place Santo Domingo.
“All we can do is play the best we can, and we’ll see where we are at the end of the season,” said manager Ernesto Garcia. “I’m proud of our boys for fighting hard the way they have.”
