Grand Junction, Colo. - The Grand Junction Gold Sox turned in a sizzling 5-1 record in Week 15 of their Class A schedule – and added nothing at all to their lead in the PL West Central Division.
Why? Because the Aspen Surge (New Orleans) turned in a 5-1 week, too.
“You can’t let that get to you,” said rookie manager Roberto Solis. “The only thing you can control is how you play and how you respond to competition. The other guys are good, too, or they wouldn’t be playing professional ball.
“I told our guys that, if anything, that should be incentive to go out and play even better, because that’s what it’s going to take to win our division for a third consecutive year. We need to be excellent.”
So far, so good.
