Is this pace better? I'm cranking these babies out as fast as I can …
Here's our third base situation:
Third Basemen
Player | Level | Ovr/Pot | Contact | Gap | HR Power | Eye | Avoid K's | Pos. Rating | Range | Error | Arm | DP |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
L. González | Majors | 50/50 | 7/7 | 6/6 | 2/2 | 5/5 | 8/8 | 8 | 7 | 8 | 8 | 8 |
T. Durán | Majors | 55/55 | 8/8 | 8/8 | 6/6 | 4/4 | 8/8 | 6 | 6 | 8 | 6 | 9 |
J. De La Cruz | AA | 35/35 | 4/4 | 5/5 | 4/4 | 3/3 | 7/7 | 9 | 9 | 5 | 10 | 3 |
Ken Wear | S-A | 20/45 | 3/4 | 6/6 | 4/6 | 4/6 | 4/6 | 2 | 2 | 4 | 10 | 3 |
Durán, though, will put more pop into the lineup and should be adequate in the field at third.
The cupboard starts to get a bit bare after our major league roster, though. Again, we do have other infielders and utility guys throughout the system that play 3B, but they don't have the offensive production you'd want to have there.
Ken Wear was our second round pick last year and the jury is still out - way out - on him. His Rookie League season was disappointing and he didn't show much in the Florida Prospect League, so we've moved him to Short Season A to give him plenty of time to develop.
We're OK for now here, but third base is a spot where we definitely need to bring in some prospects so we don't get caught short - or forced to hit the free agent market - in a couple of years.
Let me know if you have questions.
