Beloit, WI - Think of it as the ecstasy and the agony, if you will.

First, the ecstasy: The Beloit Blue Sox captured the Donaldo Subleague championship by beating the Trenton Generals (Atlantic City) in the Series of Accountability playoffs round.

Beloit took the series 2 games to 1, with LF Danny Bennett winning series MVP after collecting 2 homers and 5 RBIs over the 3 games.

Now for the agony.

The Sox dropped the first 2 games of The Final Judgment championship series against the Drake champion Bismarck Churchills. But worse than that, Beloit lost two of their best pitchers to elbow injuries for the rest of the series.

SP Andresa Frederico and Closer James Matarazzo both suffered elbow inflammation and went on the injured list. Frederico will be sidelined for 6 weeks, and Matarazzo for 2 months. Frederico already spent 4 months on the IL this season with a shoulder injury.

That doesn’t bode well for either the team and its chances in the rest of the series, or for either pitcher as they move forward with their careers.
