Cape Hatteras, NC - This was not an especially good week on the Outer Banks: the Carolina Flight went 1-3 to drop back to .500 for the season, and they placed just one player on the AAA All-Star team for the Granville Sub-league.
The Flight’s lone All Star was SP Hector Reyes, who pitched the 7th inning of the game on June 12 and retired the side in order, with one strikeout, one unassisted groundout to the first baseman, and a pop out to the second baseman.
Granville’s All-Stars beat the Roundfield Sub-League 8-4, with DH Gary Wright of the Kalamazoo Kangaroos (Seattle) winning Player of the Game honors. Wright was 2-2 with a 2-run homer in the 3rd inning. The winning pitcher was Chang-ho Kim of the Gotham Heroes (Jacksonville), while the loser was Dean Valentino of the Dodge City Gunslingers (Rockville).
