Cliché of the Game: "For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Moelling.

Hot Take: This was a split that could’ve – should’ve? – been a Sox sweep, but it’s heartening to see the boys in black pinstripes play competitive ball against a good team. And speaking of heartening … FINALLY!!! Amayas Moelling pitched an excellent game from the starting rotation. Possibly the recent week in the bullpen helped him get his head on straight: his relief appearances were all strong, and his starts since rejoining the rotation have (except for a rocky outing against Nashville) been decent. But this last appearance was better than that – it was an outing that befits a staff ace. The Chicago front office is keeping its collective fingers crossed that Moelling can build on this for the rest of the season.
