The Short Season A and Rookie League teams of the Chicago Black Sox struggled out of the gate with incomplete rosters as a result of the Amateur Draft timing.
With negotiations just now underway with the franchise’s top draft picks, both the San Pedro de Macoris Green Sox and the Monclova Aqua Sox will still play with without much in the way of talent for another week or two.
The shortage will be hardest felt in Monclova, since virtually every prospect with even an ounce of talent was promoted either to Class A Grand Junction or San Pedro following last season.
Still, the other teams are facing similar situations, so presumably things will shake out in the end.
The shaking didn't start well for either Monclova or the Green Sox: both teams opened their seasons at 2-5.
