Sox Scoops 40.37 "Sox at Portland Series Results"
Chicago at Portland Series Results
04/11/40: Chicago Black Sox @ Portland Lumberjacks - Win, 6-3.
Multi-HR Day for Simpson as Black Sox Overpower Lumberjacks, 6-3
W: J. Nicto (1-0) L: G. Isaza (0-1) S: L. Gonzáles (3).
HR - CHI: M. Simpson 2 (3), J. Lorenzen (1), R. Wattson (1) POR: S. Oh III (2)
04/12/40: Chicago Black Sox @ Portland Lumberjacks - Win, 6-3.
Black Sox Win at Portland, 6-3
W: A. Moelling (1-1) L: M. Solíz (0-1) S: L. Gonzáles (4).
HR - CHI: D. Dave (3), L. González (3) POR: S. Oh III (3), B. Kim (4)
Game 1 Notables: 1B Mark Simpson continued to show signs of breaking out of his early-season doldrums, hitting two homers and a double with 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored … Starter Juan Nicto won his first game of the season, going 6.2 innings while allowing 7 hits and 3 runs with 2 Ks and 3 walks. His PQS score of 1 showed he was probably fortunate to pick up the “W,” though … Player of the Game: Mark Simpson … Cliché of the Game: “We can always improve and get better,” said CF Jim Lorenzen, “but we’re feeling confident after that win.” Confident enough to explain the difference between improving and getting better? Ah, we thought not.
Game 2 Notables: Sox Starter Amayas Moelling showed why so many expect great things from him as he cruised to victory with 7.2 IP, and 5 hits and 2 runs allowed … The big blow for the Sox came in the top of the 3rd inning when 3B Luis González smacked a 2-run homer to give the Sox the lead … Player of the Game: Amayas Moelling … Cliché of the Game: “We put it together today and came out with the win,” Moelling said. “That’s the main thing.”
In Sum: The Sox looked pretty good in this short series, but then again everyone looks pretty good against Portland at this point. It’s hard to take too much away from this, except that Nicto and Moelling seem to be hitting their strides and Luis Gonzáles redeemed himself a bit as closer after his horror story in Des Moines, picking up saves in each of the wins.

That's why I traded you Lorenzen. I couldn't get past his redundant speech and him saying the same thing in two different ways.
