The final out ever recorded at the Opera House, the home of the nearly-former Huntsville Phantoms, was a 5-4 fielder’s choice grounded into by New Orleans RF Xavier Randel during the Phantoms' Sept. 29, 7-4 victory over the Crawdads. Huntsville 2B Rocky Wattson fielded the throw from 3B Luis González and stepped on the bag to retire DH Dean Ludlum … Ludlum recorded the last hit at the Opera House, a ground ball single up the middle off reliever Pavel Bure, Jr. … The final Opera House win went to RP Juan Alfonso, while the final loss went to New Orleans RP Tony Ramirez … And, finally, the last HR recorded at the soon-to-be-shuttered ballpark was a 418-foot blast to left center hit by New Orleans 3B Mario Barrera in the sixth inning off SP Luis Gonzáles.
