Louisville rode a walk-off homer from left fielder Scott Martin to a thrilling 4-3 win over the Huntsville Phantoms Monday night at Kentucky Truck Plant Stadium.

Huntsville entered the 9th clinging to a 3-2 lead when Phantoms Manager Bret Richards brought in right-hander Justin Archer to lock down the win.

He couldn't do it.

Archer yielded a lead-off walk to second baseman Ricardo Taváres, but struck out the next batter on three pitches. That brought Martin to the plate, who stung a hanging slider 327 feet into the right field stands for a game-winning 2-run homer.

Louisville won a second consecutive walk-off thriller over Huntsville on Tuesday as center fielder Abay Omoruyi mashed a two-run homer in the bottom of the 9th inning to victimize Phantoms closer Esteban Velásquez.

Huntsville starter Yu-bao Tong pitched an effective 6.2 innings, allowing just 1 run on 7 hits.

As a result, the Phantoms entered the 9th with a 3-2 lead, but Velásquez quickly ran into trouble. He walked right fielder Pedro Saldaña on four pitches to open the inning, then ran the count to 2-2 on Omoruyi before grooving a fastball that the 24-year-old center fielder took deep to end the game.

LP: Velásquez PQR: 0

Cliché of the Game: “Great to get the crowd on its feet,” Omoruyi said.
