Attendance Trends for the 2041 Season

The basic attendance trend for 2041 has been … great! As you know, after attendance softened a bit towards the end of last season, we lowered our ticket price from $20 to $18. Attendance rebounded immediately (helped along by Amayas Moelling’s no-hitter, we suspect), so we made the decision to hold prices steady at $18 going into this season.

We have basically sold out the house (or come close) all season long, to date. Our capacity, as you know, is 35,000 and our average attendance was 34,759 as of Aug. 17. That translates to 99.3 percent of capacity, which leads the BBA.

Our highest total (34,977) came on Saturday, July 20 against Louisville, and the lowest (31,749) came on Thursday, May 30 against San Fernando. That date, in fact, is the only one that dipped below 34,000 in attendance this season.

If we raise ticket prices next season, we might want to make it a minimal hike – if any – because we seem to have found the sweet spot for keeping the turnstiles humming.

Our series were backloaded on the schedule: we played 3 times in Chicago in April, then 3 times at Madison in July (road games not on this chart) - then 4 times in Chicago at the end of August (24-27) and another 4 times at Madison in September. I compiled this chart before those series. The schedule makers apparently wanted to save the best (using the term loosely) for last ...
