Another year, another chance to develop the next batch of Bluebirds. The select few headed to the development this lab is a mix of current Bluebirds and minor leaguers, all of whom appear to be plans of Nashville’s future.

1. LHP Jose Torres: The former can't-miss prospect seems to be lumping into a good reliever. Unfortunately he didn't see any progress in the dev lab to improve his stamina. NO IMPROVEMENT

2. LHP Carlos Gomez: The southpaw reliever went into the dev lab to improve his movement. Not only did he improve his movement, he increased its potential. OUTSTANDING

3. LHP Joseph James: Like Torres, James was sent to the lab to improve his stamina to see if he could be converted to a more reliable starter. In fact, he lost stamina this winter and will be stuck in the bullpen. NO IMPROVEMENT

4. SS Luke Cage: The disgruntled youngster went into the dev lab with his head held high and came out with positive results. He improved his BABIP slightly. SUCCESSFUL

5. RF Cüneyt 'Roomba' Tanju: Roomba went into the dev lab to improve his bat speed to increase his HR total, however, he was unable to find any improvement. He is still quite young and hops to play off an impressive 2063 season. NO IMPROVEMENT

6. RHP Halewijn de Haan: early reports indicated de Haan was thriving in the dev lab, but it may have been fool's gold. By the end of the lab, de Haan's pitches were moving as they were before. NO IMPROVEMENT

7. LHP Daniel 'Hopalong' Grasia: Not only did Grasia improve his movement, he excelled in the dev lab and scouts believe he will continue to get more movement on his pitches than previously. A solid spring will see Grasia in Nashville by May OUTSTANDING

8. RHP Jesús Molina: scouts were hoping to help bump Molina's development into gear, but he seems stuck in the mud. NO IMPROVEMENT

9. RHP Zhi-huan Chew: Though Chew improved his control in the dev lab, he still needs to work on improving all aspects of his game. He's got the potential, but he was added to the 40 man roster and is running out of time to be a viable starter. SUCCESSFUL

10. 1B Antonio Ronguillo: Well, Roguillo needed a miracle to remain in Nashville, and he may have been blessed. The former rule 5 pick went into the dev lab to improve his quality of contact. He succeeded and scouts even think they saw a chance of a higher ceiling in the future. OUTSTANDING

All in all, I'm just glad there's no red here. I'm pleased with the outstanding performances, especially Grasia, who was the prospect coming back in exchange for Lololololo. Ronguillo will have a nice spring battle with some vets signed to MiLC with options to play 1B/DH against RHP. Gomez will be a nice addition to the bullpen and looks devastating against LHB.
