Halewijn de Haan was born to Dutch theatre parents and named after a folklore character who would lure women to their doom with his song. His love for baseball came from a school play adaptation of a baseball player Steve Nebraska and he quickly switched gears to pursue a baseball career after falling deep into character. Like his namesake, he learned he could lure opposing hitters to their doom with a deep arsenal of pitches and was signed by Nashville for $4,206,969 in 2061.

The Dutchman pitched well in his first professional season last year with 4.80 ERA in 14 GS. His performance was good enough to get the call to Single A to begin the 2063 season. He’s got five pitches in his arsenal and is expected to reach high 90’s with his fastball. He keeps the ball in the park and has a high work ethic, making him an intriguing one to watch, even as an IFA.
