When Labonte was in high school in New Jersey, he and his teammates spent a lot of time at the river, often having stone throwing contests trying to reach New York. The young right-hander quickly realized he didn't have the strongest arm, so he got crafty. He would use a sidearm approach skipping stones to best his teammates. He was also smart. One time he won the contest in debatable fashion - knowing he couldn't out throw his teammates, he relied on his precision and threw a stone onto a boat going underneath the bridge. He technically made it all the way to New York.

Using those methods and translating it to the mound, Labonte found success in high school. He went to college for a minute before being drafted by the Bluebirds with the 34th overall pick in the 2061 draft. Labonte still relies on his pinpoint accuracy, of which all six of his pitches benefit. Despite being a sidearmer, he doesn't have much trouble getting out lefties and should be a good starter in the BBA. Worst case he is a really good reliever conversion candidate.

I might be a little high on Labonte. Not sure. It's tricky since he's a sidearmer and struggles against LHB, but with six pitches in his repertoire, he may be an intriguing RP conversion candidate to become a RHP specialist. The plan is to keep him a starter, though. He has a 2.78 FIP in Double A last year and he started there again this season before jumping up to Triple A to fill in for an injury. One to keep an eye on, but would love for his stuff to improve.
