RHP Walt ‘Wildcat’ Thomas
Thomas was drafted by the Bluebirds in the 3rd round of the 2057 draft. Not rated highly by OSA scouts, but beloved by Nashville CM Chad Nason. He won’t go deep into games and might be limited to a bullpen role, but he’s got the tools to be a BBA pitcher.
Wildcat has a goo cutter and curveball with an electric slider. His changeup needs a lot of work and may never come along for the 21 year old, but Thomas should find success with the three pitches he’s got. In 14 games at Short A last season, the right hander had a 58 FIP- and earned a promotion to AA to begin 2058, but will likely spend most of the time in Single A. There might not be room for Wildcat in Nashville, so he will have to bide his time, but injuries could get him promoted as early as this season.
