Johnny’s father, John, is a mechanic at nearby Joint Base Andrews where Air Force One resides, so it should be natural that little Johnny was raised with defense as a top priority. Reed was selected in the 2nd round of the 2057 draft, 69th overall (giggity), after attending Navy, naturally. He battled #1 overall pick, Johnny Lazer, as the draft’s best fielding SS, however, is very limited with bat and will need to improve offensively to be a start in the BBA. Even without a bat, Reed’s 11 range will be an asset off the bench at the very least and he appears ready for the BBA today.

After being drafted, Reed was sent to Short A where he had a .694 OPS with 11 HR in 69 (giggity) GS. More impressively, he managed 16 ZR at SS in those 69 games. He will begin the 2058 season in Single A and is just a bump or two away from being an all-star SS. He will likely get a fast track to the BBA as a utility infielder as early as next year.

ETA: 2059

Meh. Like the kid, but will never be more than a backup infielder with his hitting skills. That being said, I love him in the field and expect him to have a role someday. Not enough to keep him in the top 10.
