Yen was part of the notorious Nashville IFA Spend of 2055, signing for $6.1 million, effectively $12.2 million in the eyes of Nashville's accountants. His nickname is 'Bye Bye,' though he isn't known to be a bug strikeout pitcher. The nickname is said to have come from standing seaside and saying 'bye bye' to his father for upwards of thirty minutes each he would leave to captain his cruise ship.
He shows promise of having good movement and control on all five of his pitches: slider, curveball, changeup, sinker, and splitter. He doesn't have a single standout pitch in his repertoire, but they are all mediocre with hopes of improving. His extreme groundball tendency is important since he only throws around 90 MPH at the moment, so he won't have to rely on striking out batters if he keeps the ball down. in 2055 rookie ball he posted a 3-10 record with 4.78 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. He will spend 2056 in rookie ball again with hopes of improving his overall game.
ETA: 2059

Good intangibles. You’d think he has a reliever conversion floor with that deep repertoire.

I boosted his work ethic this off-season with PP. I like this guy.

'Bye Bye' lost a point of stuff last season, which is obviously not the direction we want him to go, but he had a good inaugural season in rookie ball i 2056. in 14 GS he had a 3.14 ERA. Hopefully he develops a bit this season or he might be a RP conversion candidate.

Yen was the main target in the 2055 IFA spree and he's turning out to be a pretty good pitcher. He fell off my top-10 because I wasn't sure he would develop, but he's made great strides after we switched it v25. Yen probably won't get promoted to Nashville this season, but he's fighting for a spot. He had a 2.81 in a full season of AA last year, but continues to improve and has 1.67 ERA in 27 IP thus far in 2060.

Yen has really stepped up his game and should be joining the Bluebirds staff after he loosens up his arm a little bit more in AAA. He will step in behind the veterans, Lolololo, Stevens, and Cole to create a formidable rotation.
