Gonzáles was a relatively unknown prospect before turning up with the College Conference All-Stars this past season. The young outfielder hails from Mexico City and is starting to fill out his 6’2 frame as he makes a name for himself. He became a free agent and signed with the Bluebirds for an astonishing $9,696,969 signing bonus after winning the 2053 CCAS (COL) MLN Pascal Verhoeve Glove Award and Platinum Stick awards while playing CF. Many thought the signing bonus was too much, but the Bluebirds do not plan on fiddling in international free agency this season and decided to spend budget on free agents like Gonzáles.

Like many young naturally gifted athletes, Gonzáles can sometimes be nonchalant in the outfield. He is able to use his great speed to cover the masses in CF and didn’t commit any errors in 2053, though scouts believe he could commit errors in the future if he doesn’t hone in his focus. He has good arm strength as well and should have no problem sticking in CF in the future. At the plater, the lefty possesses above average tools across the board, but showcased very well in 2053 slashing .312/.443/.606 with 11 HR and 27 SB in 48 games. He will be entering 2054 in his age 19 season and has plenty of room to improve, so keep an eye on this investment.

He will probably begin the season in A ball. Might get demoted to short A mid-season if he isn't keeping up.

Gonzales looks like a league average hitter with great speed and range in the outfield, making him a valuable piece. He has a .614 OPS and 32 SB in a full season in Single A. He will begin 2055 in Single A, but could be moved to AA if he performs well. Hopefully he can stick in CF long term. ETA: 2057.

This guy should easily be a top 100 prospect.

OOTP doesn't rank their prospects very well. I actually thought it was more accurate in this current game so far. But yeah, he is a top 100 guy IMO.

Gonzales shoots up to #1 prospect after bumping further:
ContactGapPowerEyeAvoid K
Start 205538542
Start 205669863
Potential8 (+2)10 (+1)9(+2)7 (+1)6(+1)

Typically I try to run these reports before the season starts. I'm using his current ratings opposed to January 1 because they're too damn sexy. Gonzales will probably play out the season in AAA, but could very well see time in Nashville this season.

Getting real excited for this kid. Just bumped to a 10 POT power, too. Gonna keep him down in minors to work on his contact, but he could play in BBA today. Not sure how he isn't ranked #1 by OSA smh.

I was one of them. To be fair, it was prior to Gonzales’ latest bumps. I still think the gap between the two players isn’t very large, but I’d take Gonzales at this point I think.

The high work ethic and more room for growth were part of the equation.

Just bumped to an 8 EYE. If I'm not mistaken, this kid is trying to make the playoff roster.

Updated ratings for Gonzales, who just continues to skyrocket his stock. Unfortunately, Nashville has the reigning best player in LF, reigning Gillstrom winner in CF, and reigning Silk winner in RF. He will continue to develop in AAA and is ready to jump at his chance if someone gets injured. Hopefully he can get his AVK up, though it hasn't slowed him down to this point after batting .299 in 112 AAA games after a blistering .394 in 25 AA games. Or maybe I trade Kidd to make room for this kid right now. Either way, very excited to have this 22 year old in my system.
