Colby Triska was signed to a minor league contract by the
Long Beach Surfers in 2050 and released the following year. The Bluebirds snatched him off free agency and sign him to a minor league deal just a few weeks later to add depth to their minor league infield. The scouts began to see his potential as a hitter. He has a very good profile with good power, patience, and ability to avoid strikeouts, though questions loom whether or not he is agile enough to stay in the middle infield. His value drops as a first baseman or designated hitter, but if he meets his potential, his bat will find its way into the lineup.
Triska didn’t have much success in his first season in the Nashville organization, but blossomed a little in 2053 with the
Santo Domingo Sea Turtles, slashing .306/.355./.451 in 58 games. Triska will be entering his age 22 season, so we hope he can replicate his success in A or AA ball this season. If he’s able to live up to his potential, he could be a Bluebird by 2055 at the earliest, but 2056 is more realistic.
