Brooks Eliot – the spawn of GM Chad Nason. Of course he was going to wind up in Nashville along with his brother,
Brand Michael. However, unlike his big brother, Brooks has a promising career in the BBA. The shortstop was selected 2nd overall by the Brooklyn Robins in the 2049 draft and was traded to the Bluebirds later that winter for three pitchers. He struggled in his short time in Brooklyn’s rookie ball and didn’t fare much better in his first full season with the A ball
Springdale Roosters. Since then he has been a hit machine. In 2051 he batted .351 for the Roosters and .326 in 2052 before being promoted to the AAA
Orlando Oranges. He continued his hit parade in the upper minors, hitting .312. In 2053 the infielder hit .331 for the Oranges while splitting time at shortstop and third base.
Eliot has a very strong hit tool, however, he only possesses average skills elsewhere. He probably won’t hit more that 20 HR in a season, but could hit 15 or so balls out a year since he swings at nearly everything. His patience at the plate needs serious work and he needs to learn how to hit the ball into the gaps better. Defensively, he’s a tweener, but his best position in second base. He likely won’t cut it at shortstop or third base, but can plays those positions in a crunch. He is a slow runner so don’t count on him stealing many bases in his career. As long as he hits, he’ll find a spot somewhere.
