Théo Bourges had himself a day on Sunday against the Long Beach Surfers as the slugging centerfielder went deep four times, including three times off reigning Nebraska winner, Danya Tchekanov. Bourges hit a opposite field shot in the 1st inning and then proceeded to hit homers in back-to-back-to-back innings in the 4th, 5th, and 6th.

“Danya is a very good pitcher,” said Bourges, “but he kept trying to sneak ze knoocklecurve by me. Ze first one was axzually a very good pitch on ze outside ze plate, but I waited patient and smazshed it ze other way. Ze other two just hang over plate and I make them disappear.”
Bourges would add one more dinger off Ron Smith and finished with 8 RBI in the 12-1 rout of the Surfers. The Bluebirds hope the mighty performance can help break Bourges’ slump as the team Is struggling in the middle of the pack of the Frick League, offensively. The 8-time all-star has struggled in his first season with Nashville, batting a measly .220, however hitting 21 HR along the way. Thus far in July he is batting .303 with 6 HR and has a multi-hit game in 5 of his past 7 games. He will look to build on that tonight as the Bluebirds look to complete the 4 game sweep of the Madison Wolves.
