Valdez Traded Away

With the addition of Andrew Gallagher, who signed a one year deal with the Bluebirds, Nashville had too many players on their active roster. Rather than demote another hitter, the Bluebirds elected to make space on the roster by trading RHP Robinson Valdéz to the El Paso Chilis for minor league outfielder, Devayana Koganti.
“We really need an injection to our offense right now,” said GM Chad Nason. “We have a lot of faith in our starters to go deep into games and we have a few monsters at the back of the bullpen that get the majority of the cleanup work. While we like Robinson and wish him the best of luck, he was a spare part for our club.”

Valdéz had spent his entire career with the Bluebirds since being a 4th round draft pick in the 2042. In his BBA career, Valdéz has been a Swiss army knife for the Bluebirds. He has started 61 games either as an opener or full-time starter, but found most success as a reliever where he only needed to rely on his fastball and slider.
