Nashville Bluebirds GM Chad Nason is being sued by Gaylord Springs Golf Links for an apparent no show for what has become an annual event hosted by the Bluebirds. Nason began the Playoff Invitational in 2043 with annual invites to Madison Wolves and Phoenix Talons players and staff. The tournament is scheduled for the first weekend of October every year in which Nason blocks out all tee times and venue services. The Bluebirds were unavailable for the tournament this year, of course, because they unexpectedly forced their way into the Frick League playoffs. All focus was on beating the Omaha Cyclones and the Playoff Invitational was understandably an afterthought.

“Gaylord Springs expends all their resources to prepare the course for Mr. Nason and his annual tournament,” said lead counsel, Harvey Weiss. “The amount of preparation to get the course in tip-top shape for the public’s viewing is incredibly tasking, both physically and financially. We will be seeking restitution for the loss of income for the club’s most notorious event of the year.”
The golf tournament has become somewhat of a tradition amongst college-aged baseball fans as they flock to the links for a postseason party of their own. Many compare it to the PGA’s Waste Management Open on steroids, but the revenue gained by the course is crucial to secure employment of many of the course’s staff members.
“I don’t feel we have any obligation for potential losses of the golf course,” said Nason. “We paid for the weekend’s green fees and even paid the caterers for the golfers’ meals. It saddens me to miss out on the tournament, but we have bigger fish to fry. Of all things I’ll miss the most, it will definitely be my favorite cart girl, Brittani, so if they wanna play hardball, we’ll play hardball. I’ve offered Brittani a full-time job as our new clubhouse attendant, so now Gaylord Springs will be out their best cart girl.”

While the local crowd wasn’t as spectacular without the Bluebirds in attendance, the rest of the tournament went on without a hitch. Phoenix GM, Sean Marko (@jiminyhopkins), led the tournament for 71 holes before collapsing on the final hole of the tournament. Figures.
