Hasheem Makin was discovered by
Rockville scouts while he was running up pyramids with classmates in Egypt. The head scout in the area noticed Makin was blowing away his classmates with his incredible leg strength, blasting his way up the pyramids much quicker than his peers. The scout went to eat lunch when he saw the same group of kids playing cricket. Makin further showcased his strength and it was clear that this kid was something special. Rockville signed Makin to join their international complex and was named the #34 prospect in the BBA. He was then traded to
Charlotte, who then sent him to
Portland in the
Robert Menzies trade. Makin made his way to
Nashville in a deal for
Lorenzo de’ Medici in 2046.
Makin is just a career .201 hitter in the minors, but he did add 17 HR last season in his first stint at A-level
Springdale Roosters. Scouts love the kid’s power potential and judgment at the plate. He is also equipped with very good speed and stolen base ability. Defensively, he is seen as an average outfielder and will likely spend his time manning the corners of the outfield. Makin is expected to begin the year in Springdale while his tools are polished and Bluebirds fans hope to see him in Nashville in 2049.
