RHP Elliot 'Snow God' Buckland
Former RHP Elliot ‘Snow God’ Buckland has been touted to take over the vacant pitching coach position for the Orlando Oranges. Buckland pitched is parts of four seasons in Nashville before being traded to the Las Vegas Hustlersalong with 2B Jesús Yan, SS Mike England, in exchange for 3B Phil Logan, SS Reynante Alvero, LHP Scott Bugbie, and RHP Adrian Custello prior to the 2044 season. GM Chad Nason has prioritized leadership under his regime and believes Buckland will be able to use his wisdom to help mold young pitchers into viable BBA pitchers. “Buck was a veteran when I took over the GM position in Nashville and was beloved by all,” said Nason. “We hope his aura will resonate with our young bucks in the minors, no pun intended.”
The oft-injured right-hander played for five BBA teams, including Heartland foes Omaha Cyclones and Louisville Sluggers, but enjoyed the most success pitching in Nashville.
“They gave me the run around about passing along my wisdom and whatnot, but I’m pretty sure they just brought me in to help out fellow Aussie, Adrian Custello,” said Buckland. “My first thought was it’s kinda degrading being brought in to help out a guy they traded me for, but I love baseball and I miss the action. I took off the past year to spend time with family, but was having a hard time adapting to life outside of baseball. I’m happy to help pass along the same joy baseball gave me to the next generation.”
