Kengos Expected to Leave Bluebirds

The “World Famous” Gipper Kengos first arrived to Nashville in the summer of 2040 in a trade with the Mexico City Aztecs. He continued playing at an all-star caliber level for his over his first two and a half season as a Bluebird, but struggled tremendously in 2043 where he batted below the Mendoza line and accumulated -2.0 WAR. The timing of Kengos’ struggles couldn’t have come at a worse time as new GM Chad Nason had just taken over the helm of front office duties. The new GM was not impressed with Kengos’ play and showed little loyalty to his past performances. Kengos spent the past couple of seasons as a platoon player, despite rumblings from fans and World Famous himself saying "I just wanna play ball, man! I've shown what I'm capable of doing on a daily basis, so I'd like to find a team that appreciates my abilities."

“Gipper brings a lot of valuable tools to the field. I especially love his ability to play defense and get on base. However, we’ve got myriad options in the outfield who can hit RHP at a much higher level of success, so we wanted to maximize those at-bats,” said Nason.
While seen as a plus defender, it was still a surprise to see Kengos win a Yogi Zimmer Award in 2043. With a lifetime OBP of .377, Kengos will surely be snagged up quickly should he opt out of his contract at the end of this season. The Bluebirds will be short another RHB if the team also cuts ties with Martín 'Duck' Marín, as expected. LHP in the Heartland will be licking their chops in 2046 unless the Bluebirds sign some RHB fire power in the offseason.

All season I debated using him as an every day player. Love him as a fourth outfielder, but he should probably play every day elsewhere.
