Although projected to be a top tier team in the competitive Heartland division, the Nashville Bluebirds see themselves at the bottom of the standings and a 1-5 record last week brings their total win loss to 20-22. Luckily the season is still young and Nashville still remains just 2.5 games out of a wildcard spot, so it is too early to panic. There are some worrisome trends that need to be corrected, however.

All-star 3B Tony Frost is sporting a 104 wRC+ and expects to play better saying “I got paid a bit this offseason and might have partied a little too hard. I though I’d bounce right back into the groove of things, but it’s taking a but longer. I mean, I have 10 HR already so I’m absolute garbage.”

Frost is just one of many starters failing to meet expectations. Kidane Ata is one of five starters hitting under the Mendoza line. The starting rotation has an ERA of 4.78, good for last in the Heartland. The lone bright spot in the rotation has been Scott Bugbie, but having a young ace carry the team on his shoulders is not ideal.

“I’d like to be able to help Scotty grow and teach him a thing or two, but he shouldn’t be copying me as an example right now, man. I’m struggling with my command right now and I gotta fix it and show these guys I’m capable of being the ace they expected,” said Chris ‘The Wolf’ Moran.

Nashville finishes a two week homestand with two games versus the Des Moines Kernels before a two game set at Twin Cities River Monsters. Then they’ll return home for another long homestand beginning with the Valencia Stars.

Well, all the negativity and bat cleansing seem to be working... you're back in the mix.

Yes. I was told results will be seen in 1-2 weeks. No word on how long until effect wears off.

I wouldn't take any chances. Go get more maple leaves, pronto.
