With the 22nd pick in the 2045 BBA Amateur Draft, the Nashville Bluebirds selected 21-year-old RHP Bill Meadows. The junior college product is from Philadelphia and possesses top of the rotation stuff and command. Meadows offers a fastball, changeup, and splitter in his repertoire and he throws all three pitches very well with his fastball sitting in the mid-90s. The right hander is expected to go deep into games and eat a plethora of innings, which should give the bullpen much needed rest. Nashville’s willingness to sign Meadows for his rumored demand is to be determined since they Bluebirds, or anyone else, has yet to see him pitch in a game. This pick was based solely on potential so there will be a lot of risk, but if Meadows can increase his fastball velocity to the high 90’s, he should be a legitimate threat at the top of any rotation and a welcome addition to Nashville’s already pitcher-heavy farm system.
