Bluebirds Trade for Haney

The Nashville Bluebirds finally created the big splash fans had hoped for by making a trade for Valencia Stars perennial Silk candidate, Aaron Haney. The Bluebirds have been in talks to acquire Haney dating back to last season, but communications with the past Valencia GM were constantly breaking up. When new GM, Neil Thomas took over the reins, his first call probably came from Nashville GM Chad Nason
. Missing out on Haney at the trade deadline last year proved detrimental, as the Bluebirds hit a downward spiral and fell out of the playoffs. Nason wasn’t about to let that happen again; he had to get Haney to continue competing in the fortified Heartland division. Prepared to offer top prospects such as Wafid Bishr or Nobuhito Kan, Nason was floored when Smith asked for RP Martin Román and three unknown prospects.

“My immediate thought was ‘Román?! I wasn’t expecting to move him to a rebuilding team, but as much as I love him, he can be replaced.’ It didn’t take much time for me to accept the deal and tell Smith to send it to the commissioner’s office,” said Nason. “I immediately got on the phone with a couple other GMs to go all-in with the prospects we still had in our farm. I had an absolute ace lined up along with new bullpen pieces and a star infielder.”

The Bluebirds went on to acquire all the pieces needed and went on to win 162 games and the 2045 Landis. A statue of Nason was built in front of the capitol and he was appointed governor of Tennessee. Modern country music was halted at his request and was never played again.

*glass shatters*

Mrs. Nason: Wtf, Chad, you’re drunk again at another holiday family outing!? Wake up and change your son’s diaper. He shit all over the place again.

*single tear falls*

Mr. Nason: ok

Buffalo Bisons Landis Championship > Nashville's Haney Trade

Nice summary of "the trade" though. haha Gotta be an old-timer to catch the Buffalo reference.

That year was an abomination. I also remember winning the pennant that year.

I made it to the Cartright Series and lost in game 7. Only to have a trade reversed that resulted in me missing the post-season all together I think.
