Yi comes from a line of doctors and his grandfather, Ji-hoon, was the team trainer for the South Korean soccer team when they hosted the World Cup in 2002. Yi’s grandmother, Abby Thompson, was a spectator at the World Cup when she was wooed by Ji-hoon. Yi’s father is a team trainer for the South Korean WBC team. Yi had little choices about a career – follow his doctor lineage or pursue the game he was surrounded by for years. Yi chose the latter and was signed as an international free agent in 2042 by Nashville.

While Yi doesn’t posses any major strengths, he could potentially find himself in a platoon role at catcher. He’s an average defensive catcher with below average ability to hit the ball. He does possess decent power and patience, so you can certainly do worse here. Expectations aren’t very high, but if he develops fully, he might see time as a backup catcher.

ETA: 2047

Yi has not progressed much in the past couple seasons and Nashville brass is starting to lose faith. Luckily A-Rod is signed through 2051, but they will need to find his apparent heir at some point while Yi focuses more on the family business.
