Drafted in the 18th round in 2041, Odemar Lock was the #94 prospect in 2043, but fell out of the Top 100 to begin the 2044 campaign. Lock is a 6’2 200 lb first baseman with tremendous power and patience. He can hit the ball as hard as anyone to any part of the ballpark. His problem, of course, is actually hitting the ball. Lock is very patient at the plate and waits to pounce on a ball in his wheelhouse and that is when he does his damage. He smoked the ball in single A last season to the tune of 37 longballs and a slash line .270/.443/.564. He is off to a blistering pace in his first season in AAA, with a line of .263/.401/.566, so the only thing holding him back from the Bigs is an open roster spot. With the recent struggles of firstbasemen Nacho Mendez and Julian Rios, that spot may open up sooner rather than later.

I like this series. I also like turtles.

Life is a bit more beautiful when time is measured by the half inning rather than the half hour.

Makes sense that your team is playing like zombies.

Lock would be nice if he actually had those potentials.

He destroyed low A last year and is tearing up AAA right now. I’m not sure it’s not entirely real. I think it could translate nicely at Les Paul Stadium, too.

By that I mean the potentials you have in your post are carried over from another player. :)

Lock has not been able to translate his minor league numbers into success in the BBA. In 205 career games in the BBA, Lock is slashing .203/.335/.395 with 38 HR and although he had success against LHP in the past, southpaws figured him out this season here he has an OPS of .558. He isn't a liability at 1B, but there is room to upgrade at 1B. Perhaps Lock is just a stopgap until a new 1B comes into town or Bishr is ready to play in the BBA.
