Kan was discovered out of Japan in 2042 and has struggled to get his feet underneath himself. He has a high ceiling, but is currently on the ground floor after a disastrous first professional season. Kan is a similar pitcher to Valdez, with a lethal fastball/curveball combo and a below average third pitch, but he is currently being stretched out into a starter in Springdale. If he can develop his changeup as a third pitch, Kan will be a top of the rotation starter, however, he currently projects to be a high level reliever.
ETA: 2046

Kan's changeup is now 5/6. Looks like stretching him out into a starter is working. Great strides for the 18-year-old.

I like the concept of a thread for individual players.

Kan continues to be an interesting prospect. His changeup has become nearly unhittable and rates 12/12. His curveball has failed to keep up though, and has dropped to 4/8. His control dropped from an 8 potential to 5 and his movement dropped from 7 to 6, but Kan was still able to mow down batters at AAA with a 2.44 FIP and 10 K/9 in 2046. His place in Nashville will be determined in 2047 where he has a chance to remain a starter, but he may wind up in the bullpen where his stuff becomes even more electric. Despite his movement rating dropping, he still keeps the ball in the park with 0.6 HR/9 in 2046.

Kan will likely see time as a starter in spring training, but may very well wind up in the bullpen to begin the 2047 season. Either way, he expects to be in a Bluebirds uniform at the start of the season. His makeup screams elite stopper, but Nashville still hopes he can contribute in a starter role, which he proved he can after winning the AAA Mitch Cain Hurler Award for the Orlando Oranges in 2046 with a 2.44 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and 197 K's in 177 IP. His ratings below represent his skills as a SP, although his stuff jumps to 17 as a RP. Kan will be a very useful tool for the Bluebirds in any capacity in 2047.

End 2046 | 12 | 5 | 5 | |
Begin 2047 | 13 | 6 | 5 | |
