Many expected to see Valdez on the Opening Day roster in 2044, but it looks like he is a classic case of service time manipulation. It shouldn’t be long until we see his electrifying fastball/slider combo in Nashville. A 2042 4th round draft pick, Valdez is seeing his name in the BBA Top 100 prospect list for the first time. The reliever has been improving the screwball in his repertoire, so he may even see time as a starter if he can develop that third pitch. For now, he will be best suited in the bullpen or as an opener role and you can expect to see him by month’s end.

Valdez came up for a cup of coffee in 2044 and succeeded in an opener role, but struggled giving up the long ball as a starter and hasn't fared much better in the bullpen in 2045 and 2046. There is still hope for Valdez to be an important pitcher on the staff, but hope of his screwball developing have dwindled and he will likely be limited to the bullpen, which given his HR/9 rate, is a little worrisome.
