Ruiz was almost a casualty of the William Wood salary dump fiasco, but Nason was able to retain him as a future piece of the Bluebirds roster. The 2041 first round draft pick is no stranger to the BBA Top 100 since his entrance at #99 in 2042. He has remained consistent and is currently ranked #60 and began the season in AA where he has dominated in his six starts throwing 46 innings with a 1.57 ERA WHIP, including a 100 pitch shutout early in the season. While Ruiz doesn’t have the most electrifying stuff, he is very well polished and has four quality pitches in his arsenal. If he continues with those performances, it won’t be long until he forces his way into the Nashville rotation and he could potentially get a call up this season.

Yes, it should be taken that way. Hionestly, nobody in Nashville really cares about YS9. It's the others we have to compete against.

Ruiz was traded to Vegas with two other minor leaguers in exchange for OF Pedro Mendoza in 2044. Mendoza has not turned out to be the hitter Nashville was hoping for with just a .804 OPS in his 2+ seasons. Mendoza looks to be a mediocre platoon player while the verdict is still out on Ruiz. So far Ruiz has struggled to find success in the BBA and is currently pitching well for Loserville's AAA affiliate.
