The second significant part of the Vegas dealt was acquiring LHP Scott Bugbie in the final moments of negotiations. While landing solely Custello would have been a good trade, Nason shipped off Jesus Yan to also acquire Bugbie. The 20 year old is already well-developed and began the season in AA with the High Point Hammers, but he wasn’t destined to be a baseball player his whole life. Bigbie’s father was hoping he’d follow in his footsteps as a professional rugby player. Ben Bugbie was a star for the Western Force rugby club for over a decade. When he retired he opened up a training academy called Bugbie Rugby, however Scott was drawn to the game of baseball and pursued his dreams after high school.

Now, Bugbie is another Nashville rising star in the BBA Top 100 prospects list, joining late last year at #93. Bugbie improved his velocity and overall stuff this offseason, catapulting him to #39 on the Top 100. His arrival could come as early as 2044 in the bullpen if the Bluebirds are in contention and need an injury replacement, however, we will likely see Bugbie join the rotation in 2045. If he can work on his control a bit more, he has the potential to become and ace.

Bugbie has been putting in extra hours in the gym and film room, with scouts rating his stuff and movement higher than before. He is 4-2 with a 2.44 ERA this season in AA and may be fast tracked to Nashville as they are currently in playoff contention. His reverse split could do wonders as a follower if he doesn't see time in the rotation.

Received his first cup of coffee in the Bigs to fill in for the suspended Chin Kim and picked up the win in a quality start. Git another bump in control. Ace in the making.

Yeah, I had him involved in some trade talks, but never really wanted to deal him so deals fell apart. His reverse split is sexy and he keeps bumping. I'll probably trade him back to Vegas for Buckland.

Bugbie was called up the Nashville at the end of 2044, serving mostly out of the bullpen with good success. As a full-time starter in 2045, Bugbie failed to improve and was a league average pitcher. In 2046, Bugbie started off solidly, but had a disastrous May resulting in his demotion to AAA to try and improve during a lost season. The Australian southpaw expectedly mowed down AAA batters, but the boosted confidence was not accommodated with any ratings adjustments. Bugbie is still expected to be an important part of the rotation in 2047.
