21 year old righty Chris "The Wolf" Moran (pictured above) went into the 2043 season with nothing promised to him. Not only did Moran ultimately win a rotation spot in his first full BBA season, he's been the dictionary definition of consistency for the Nashville Bluebirds this season.

Nashville's pitching coach, Mike Ellison, has certainly taken notice of Moran's consistent outings. "Chris has been awesome for us, no doubt," Ellison said. "It's easy to forget he's only 21 years old, and I have to keep reminding Horace (Young, Nashville manager) of that. We need him now but we need to keep him right for the future, too. It's a difficult balance to achieve."

Through twelve starts (tops on the Bluebirds), Moran leads the club in Total Pitches (1189) and Average Pitches Per Start (99.1). "That's fantastic," Ellison said with a hesitation. "At the same time we need to be mindful of the way we're pitching him."

One of the advanced stats that the Bluebirds keep an eye on is Pitcher Abuse Points. "I know that besides Moran our combined PAP is 288," Ellison explained. "Chris is at 1466 by himself. That's too much."

Moran has had seven "CAT_1" starts (0-100 pitches) which is a safe place to be. However, he also has 5 "CAT_2" starts (101-109 pitches). The rest of the staff has a combined three CAT_2 starts. Nashville has had no pitcher go beyond a CAT_2 start, which is good. Moran's bloated PAP number has Ellison on high alert. "We need to manage his pitches at this point in his career," explained Ellison. "I'll keep after Horace to keep him under 100 pitches moving forward, and we might have to consider shutting him down for a start or two at some point in the season as well."

Bear in mind that Nashville does a really good job of managing these.

On the other end of the spectrum, the top three pitchers in PAP are all from Brooklyn.
Aoki- 181793
Legrand- 1422409
Espinosa (23 years old)- 106425
