A Flock of Bluebirds 2042.17- If Nashville Missed The Playoffs...
September 22, 2042

Nashville has been extremely competitive this year, just like last year as they are right in the thick of the Wild Card race in the Frick League. They have completed their season series with four of their divisional rivals.

Nashville has completely dominated the Des Moines Kernels, which is exactly what a playoff team should do. They went 12-2 against the Kernels this year.

They also had success against the Madison Wolves, going 8-6 in the season series.

The Twin Cities River Monsters are ahead of the Bluebirds right now but it's close. The season series echoes that, as Twin Cities won the season series 8-6.

Nashville also played all fourteen games against the Yellow Springs Nine juggernaut, and split the season series 7-7. That's impressive.

The season will end with 10 games, all against divisional rivals. Nashville opens with a three game set at the Omaha Hawks. So far, Omaha is ahead of Nashville in the Wild Card race but the Bluebirds own the season series, 6-5.

The last seven games of the year will decide the Bluebirds season fate. Of course, they are against the two teams that have given them more trouble than any other team in the league (in fact Nashville only has a losing record against two other teams, the aforementioned River Monsters and also the Valencia Stars, who they were 2-6 against).

The Chicago Black Sox are the team just ahead of the Nashville Bluebirds. They are the team standing between Nashville and the postseason. They're also a team that has completely owned Nashville this season. Nashville has won just one of eleven games thus far heading into a do or die three game series at Chicago. The Bluebirds will have to turn things around in order to salvage their season.

After that series, the good news is Nashville finishes their season with a four game series at Les Paul Field. The bad news is they have to host the Louisville Sluggers, who are not only the dominant team in the Frick League but also are 8-2 against Nashville this season.

The only way Nashville will make the playoffs is if they are able to overcome the two teams that they are a combined 3-18 against this year. "I'd rather make the playoffs by exercising our demons anyway," said Nashville manager Horace Young. "They'll either earn it or not. Let's see what happens."
