Great year for Rodriguez in 2041 at just 21 years old, and if the start of spring is any indication (.486/.514/.829/1.342) he is aiming to improve on that in 2042. Just like a catcher should be, Rodriguez is looked upon as a "Captain" by his teammates. He'll play everyday against righties again this year.

Jesus Ayala (R)

Camacho held the role of spelling Rodriguez versus LHP in 2041 as a Rule 5 draftee. This year he'll be pushed by Ayala in Spring Training for the same role. Were it not for a fractured hand suffered on August 15th, Ayala would have been rewarded with a September callup for his dominant 2041 season with Orlando-AAA (.295/.333/.667/1.000, 25 HR, 61 RBI in 70 G and 261 AB). The veteran of parts of seven BBA seasons with the Long Beach Surfers is the heavy favorite here with Camacho ticketed for Orlando.

Breaking In The Back Door (NRI) (1):
Teegan Nyland is back in camp as a fourth catcher. Nothing to see here, as he's no more than an organizational soldier at this point.
