A Flock Of Bluebirds 2040.8- Random Chirps
July 14, 2040

- Kidane Ata is currently the Bluebirds' third best pitcher by WAR. Only Eru Likiliki and Chin Kim have higher WAR than the two-way sensation. Impressive.

- Hey look, Manuel Orozco is hurt again. This as he's seemingly found his niche as a closer.

- After Bob Ramirez's first start of the season was spectacular, questions about hwy he wasn't given a fair shake at keeping his starting spot are fair.

- Lorenzo de' Medici was Nashville's lone All-Star. 0.2 WAR, a bit of a strange pick. Likiliki or Ata were seemingly more deserving.

- Aleixo Urgeses was an important part of the pen the first two months, but has fallen apart to the point where he was sent to AAA Orlando to "set the restart button" on his season.

- No one can figure out why Heinrich Peithner has come down with a case of gopherball-itis.

- Francisco Barrera fooled another GM. He pitched so well upon joining the Bluebirds that they extended his contract through 2041. Now that is looking like money flushed down the toilet.

- Joey Newhouse would be vastly more productive if only he could cut out the whiffs.

- If you predicted Sam Wade would have the third most WAR among Nashville's position player group you probably also won the lottery.

- Teegan Nyland, what the heck? Pleasant surprise.

- Back to the bigs after an early season demotion, this is the Francisco Otero the Bluebirds had in mind.

- Neither Justin Jackson nor Abdelwahab Kamade seem destined to finish the year in Nashville.

- Mario Deortez's OPS in June was 1.078. Through nearly half of July, it's 1.182. He's making a statement.

- Nashville will continue to let Ernesto Sousa play. He'll either sink or swim.

- I hate to say it, but Henry Rectenberg absolutely stinks right now.

Sweet. It’s about all I can muster lately.

Agree with Joe - that format is nice and clean, easy to get in and out.
