A Flock Of Bluebirds 2040.2- Veteran Lefty Brown Added To Rotation
November 20, 2039

The Nashville Bluebirds completed their first trade under new GM Matt Rectenwald shortly after the expansion draft, agreeing on a deal with Rectenwald's former club, the Las Vegas Hustlers.

The Bluebirds acquired veteran lefty Josh "Spud" Brown to add to their rotation. Rectenwald was certainly familiar with Brown, having acquired him from Twin Cities for the 2039 playoff push in Vegas.

"Josh pitched so good for us in Las Vegas, and honestly when we heard he was available we were immediately interested in getting him quickly," said Rectenwald. "If he can pitch as well as he did in the Vegas bandbox, we're excited to see how well he'll pitch in Les Paul Field (a notorious pitchers park)."

To get Brown, the Bluebirds parted with two prospects. Eighteen year old right-handed pitcher Josh Malone was a scout find out of Australia in 2038, and has a long way to go in order to be a big league pitcher. The other prospect was utility player Rodrigo Rios a versatile player who can hit for some contact but devoid of any power or eye at the plate.

BRown figures to slot in as the #3 starter to start the year for Nashville.
