Goats of the Month - June
The Nashville Goats finished the month of June with a nearly identical record to April and May at 13-15. The Goats offense continues to roll along but with more than a few injuries to the pitching staff, the one area the Goats could not afford any injuries, they weren't able to gain any ground. Here are your Goats of the Month for June:
Offense:
The offensive POM for June goes to the Goats' Infielder Sam Wade. Wade seems to have found his groove this season and really took off. In June, Wade posted a .320/.370/.510 slash line, with 11 doubles, 1 triple, and 2 HRs, scoring 12 runs and knocking in 12 RBI, while also stealing 7 bases in 7 attempts.
Pitcher:
The Pitcher of the Month for June goes to the Goats' Starting Pitcher, Heinrich 'Cajun' Peithner. The 27yo Austrian was an easy choice for the award, finishing June with a 3-2 record after 6 starts. His 32 Ks to 12 Walks and 32 hits (2 HR) given up through 35.1 innings led to his 2.55 ERA and 1.25 WHIP led him to be the Goats Pitcher of the Month for June.
