The Goat Rope - 2037.5
Goats of the Month - June
The Nashville Goats finished the month of June with a disappointing record of 11-16. While the Goats were still within contention for a Wild Card spot at the end of the month, the feeling around town has been mostly in the "here we go again" realm. With that in mind, here are your Goats of the Month for June:
Offense:
The offensive POM for June goes to the Goats' CF, Abdelwahab 'Gasoline' Kamade. Even after missing 5 days of action in the month due to a mild abdominal strain, Kamade continued to show why the Nashville Front Office traded for him before the 2036 season. In June, Kamade posted a .326/.414/.442 slash line, with 8 doubles, and 1 triple, scoring 18 runs and knocking in 5 RBI, while also stealing 7 bases.
Pitcher:
The pitcher of the month for June goes to the Goats' Starting Pitcher, Kyle Elston. The 26yo Elston wins the award for the second month in a row. Elston improved upon his previous month's performance by finishing June with a 1-2 record after 4 starts, his 17 Ks to 3 Walks and 23 hits (3 HR) given up through 28.0 innings led to his 2.89 ERA and 0.93 WHIP outpacing the rest of his team and led him to be the Goats Pitcher of the Month for June.

Re: The Goat Rope - 2037.5
He's had 2 games where he has gone 7.2 (gave up 2 ERs) and 8.0 innings (0 ERs) and lost both games 2-1. For where his current development is, somehow he's fooling a lot of people.

Re: The Goat Rope - 2037.5
He's 26 and probably growing toward the upper regions of his rating bars. He may also be getting a little lucky with HR. His walk rate is down, but that's as indicative of rating growth as anything (he's an above average control guy per the "average plate appearance" ratings I posted earlier (8/6/7). His HR rate is way down, but if he's at the top of that "5" then he's possibly about league average...so you'd expect it would go down a little...that said, he might be just randomly getting lucky, or playing more of his starts in places that limit HRs or against weaker hitters than average, or ...

Re: The Goat Rope - 2037.5
He almost certainly is going to regress off that 3.31 ERA, but he should be serviceable if not relied on for major shouldering of a team's load.
