Goats of the Month - July
The Nashville Goats finished the month of July with a record of 14-11 and surprisingly, not quite mathematically eliminated from the playoffs just yet. While the Goats Front Office is remaining positive about the team's performance this season, the staff is looking to continue this season's performance and increase it next season with an eye towards a playoff berth. With that in mind, here are your Goats of the month for July:

Offense:
The offensive POM for July goes to the Goats' CF, Abdelwahab 'Gasoline' Kamade. Kamade takes home the award for the second month in a row and continues to prove the Nashville Front Office made the right decision to trade promising youngster Grant Lee for him. In July, Kamade posted a .348/.408/.584 slash line, with 9 doubles, 3 triples, and 2 HRs, scoring 14 runs and knocking in 16 RBI.

Pitcher:
The pitcher of the month for July goes to the Goats' rookie Closer, José Luna. Luna finished July with a 3-0 record with 5 saves. His 15 Ks to 3 Walks and 10 hits (2 HRs) given up through 13.0 innings led to his 2.77 ERA and 1.00 WHIP outpacing the rest of his team and led him to be the Goats Pitcher of the Month for July.

Minors:
The July Player of the Month award for the Goats Minor League system is goes to Roberto 'Cotton' Chávez. (Also, currently on Sale on the Goats' Trading Block.) The 27yo left hander out of Spain, Chavez finished July with a 2-3 record after starting 6 games. His 34 Ks to 8 Walks and 29 hits (6 HRs) given up through 42.2 innings led to his 3.59 ERA and 0.87 WHIP easily earned him the Goats Minor League Player of the Month for July.

Reading a TN with the words "Goats" and "Playoffs" in it that does not include "will not make the" between them is a disquieting experience.

i mean, it would take a miracle for them to get in, but considering they have already met or exceeded pretty much every win total projected for them this year, who knows.

I mean... Huntsville has a lot of injuries right now. If they fall, who is there to capitalize? Phoenix and Brooklyn are banged up and probably too far behind. It's definitely a long shot for Nashville still. But at this point in time I wouldn't totally write them off.

Actually I just realized Huntsville and Mexico City are tied for the last spot. That might make things a little harder.

In the last 4 sims, the Goats went from a 0.2% chance of making the playoffs, then 0.4%, then 2.3% and are currently sitting at 1.3%. I'm not calling my bookie but at least it gives us hope for the future. Maybe we sell a few more season tickets next year or something, I'll settle for that.
