The Goats Rope 2036.4

Post by GoldenOne » Mon Oct 01, 2018 12:44 pm

Goats of the Month - April
The Nashville Goats finished the month of April with a record of 12-15. The .444 winning percentage might not impress some clubs but the Goats havent seen much of that for several years. Here are your Goats of the month for April:

Offense:
The offensive POM for April goes to the Goats' Outfielder, Justin 'The Scout' Jackson. The 21 year old Jackson posted a .262/.319/.524slash line, with 8 doubles, 2 triples, and 5 HRs, scoring 14 runs and knocking in 17 RBI. Jackson also found himself with 2 SBs in April.

Pitcher:
The pitcher of the month for April goes to Francisco Luna. The 21yo Rookie finished April with a 1-1 record after starting 4 games, appearing in 5. His 24 Ks to 9 Walks and 29 hits (3 HR) given up through 33.1 innings led to his 2.16 ERA and 1.14 WHIP outpaced the rest of his team and led him to be the Goats Pitcher of the Month for April.

Minors:
The April Player of the Month for the Goats Minor League system is Roberto 'Cotton' Chávez (AAA). The 26 year old lefty out of Spain went 2-1 in 4 games started. His 17 Ks to 6 Walks and 22 hits (2 HR) given up through 27.2 innings led to his 2.60 ERA and 1.01 WHIP were enough to earn Chavez the Goats' Award for Minor League Player of the Month for April.

Early on, Scout is one of those guys that frustrates me as a GM. Has the ratings to be great but just not put up the great numbers to this point.

He flashes every now and then but I’m hoping for a little more consistency, in a good direction.

Luna could end up being a solid mid-top of the rotation pitcher if he can fill out that curveball. I also find it interesting that you have players from 3 of the 5 boroughs of NYC on your team. I feel like that's something I need to do at some point.(adds to list of weird and obscure OOTP goals)

Barney Everhart can be had if you want to start collecting....

Not a big fan of Barney. But I may come calling for the Brooklyn boy. My left fielder decided he can't hit right hand pitching anymore.
