The Goat Rope 2035.1

Post by GoldenOne » Wed May 30, 2018 12:22 pm

So, the Expansion Draft is complete. Its been a while since we've heard from Nashille Goats GM Brett "The Brain" Golden but rookie Goats Beat Reporter James Olsen III managed to pry a comment from him this morning. Golden's comment when asked about the Expansion Draft, "What are you talking about? Cant you see I'm trying to take a shower here? I'll have your job for this!!"

Upon his release from Nashville PD detention early this afternoon, Olsen ran down GM Golden's Special Assistant Robin "Pinky" Cooper and give him a serious guilt-trip that he only gave up on after Cooper relented to answer three questions about the Expansion Draft.

1) Why did GM Golden seem confused when asked about the Expansion Draft? Cooper: Look, The Plan is a living, breathing thing. The Expansion Draft wasnt part of The Plan. GM Golden doesnt have time for things that arent in The Plan.

2) Were the players the Goats lost not a part of "The Plan"? Cooper: If CF Bob Hernández(21st Round to Wichita), C Ánibal García (22nd Round to Wicita), and C José Rivera (24th Round to Boise) were a part of The Plan, they would have been protected and would still be here.

3) What is the plan for the Goats? Cooper: First off, its The Plan. Second, that is not about the Expansion Draft so since it seems you have no further questions regardint the agreed-upon topic, I think we are done here.

It seems that those recent nights GM Golden spent with Bill Belichick and Phil Jackson "finding their zen" in Bhaktapur, Nepal had quite the affect on Golden. Golden seems to be perfecting the art of not saying anything to the media and those times that he does, nobody is smart enough to truly know what he is talking about.

Since Olsen somehow made it into the bathroom of Golden's home when the vast majority of people inside the team are not even sure where he lives, we'll go with his insight -

"Hernandez has the potential to be a decent player or at least some valued depth but the Goats minor league outfield is crowded so someone had to be left in the cold. Garcia and Rivera have decent bats for catchers but handling a pitching staff with too much movement on the ball is not going to be where they shine. Teams will definitely be padding their stolen base numbers if these two manage to make it into the starting lineups. Overall, no harm, no foul as none of these three were anticipated as being part of the big league club within the next couple of years."

Whatever the plan is, things really can't get worse for Nashville can they? So much front office turnover that they have to improve with some sense of stability right?

The Plan is in motion. It will work. Gotta have a vision. I have a vision quest. (Great movie by the way. Still not sure how he had to lose weight to get to wrestle that guy but otherwise, a classic for me.)
