Shenani-Goats 2034.02

Post by GoldenOne » Sat Mar 24, 2018 11:32 pm

New GM Brett Golden is certainly making his presence known in Nashville firing Assistant GM David Bochy just 46 games into his second season in Nashville. Prior to coming to Nashville in 2033, Bochy spent the 2029-2030 season with Hawaii. Bochy departs with an 87-121 in his 208 games.

Bochy was not available for a statement but was seen being escorted to his car with two security guards.

Pulling no punches, GM Golden cited Bochy's temperament, favoring of veterans, poor scouting, and almost complete disregard of defensive abilities as the reason for the firing. "Obviously we need to build this team from the ground up. This younger generation, heck, most generations, dont like not being treated with respect and encouragement. Those are not Dave's strong points," Golden commented.

The bigger shocker is GM Golden's hiring of John Scott to be his new Assistant GM. New to the GM ranks himself, Scott was signed for 2 years at $495,000 a year - $85,000 more a year than GM Golden himself. Golden commented, "I dont care who makes more money. I want to win. John is great with the young guys and spotting that offensive talent we'll need in the JLA. Everything else will take care of itself."

Scott noted, "I'm excited for the move to Nashville. We've got a lot of flexibility and we'll be making things happen. Now, if you'll excuse me, Brett and I are going to go tear up Peg Leg Porker BBQ before we start getting to work tomorrow morning."

With Scott's focus on offense, GM Golden also brought in veteran Pitching Coach Ismael Luna. Luna was let go by Charm City in 2033 after spending 5 years there.

Luna made the playoffs three years straight, so he's got that going for him.

And, what are the chances of John Scott being the next in the line of great Assistant GM stories around the league?
