The Nashville Goats executed their first successful (word is that the team has submitted multiple claims this season that were rejected) waiver claim acquiring 28yo 1B Roberto Pérez from Long Beach. He batted .273/.305/.418 with the Surfers thus far this season with 10 doubles, 2 HR, and 17 RBI. This move was clearly intended to remedy the patchwork approach the Goats have had at first base in 2033 with LF Luis Galindo, being the only guy on the roster with above-average defense at first, getting the majority of playing time but struggling to the tune of .226/.276/.395 with 4 doubles, 1 triple, 5 HR, and 14 RBI. Rafael Alicea is the only true first baseman on the active roster but, while his bat has been decent hitting 255/.328/.455 with 3 HR and 3 RBI, he is a liability with his glove.
