Anaya was drafted in the 8th round of the 2053 draft, but wasn’t exactly selected for his tools. He had the body to be a power pitcher, though. Standing at 6’11, Anaya struck fear into opposing batters, but didn’t have much movement on his pitches. A typical thrower, not a pitcher. That is until the spring of ’55 when he developed a sinker that helped increase his movement, velocity, and groundball induction. He’s also steadily improved his control throughout the years and made a case to stay in the rotation.

V25 took away Anaya’s pretty blue rating, but I’m not at all mad about it. Anaya’s movement remained a 5 and that was his biggest problem in previous versions. I still expect him to have give up the long ball, but he won’t give up too many well-hit balls. His sub-3.00 ERA the past three season are very promising and he will begin 2059 in AA. Through seven starts, Anaya has a 2.42 ERA, sub-1.00 WHIP, 9.1 K/9 and 1.1 HR/9. I can live with that.
