Who Gets Traded to Vegas, Doesn't Stay in Vegas

It seems patience has run out with José Machado at the plate. In a deal announced before the Bluebirds finished the four game sweep of Madison Wolves, Nashville acquired outfielder Pedro Mendoza from, you guessed it, Las Vegas Hustlers, in exchange for three prospects. Mendoza was traded to Vegas earlier in the day by Omaha Cyclones, but wasn’t even in town long enough for a hand of blackjack when Nashville came calling.

“We are incredibly happy with the way the season has played out thus far, but we are always looking for ways to better our team. We talked to Omaha earlier tis year, but talks stalled. We think Mendoza will be a staple in our offense for several years and ensure our spot in the playoffs this year,” said GM Chad Nason.

Mendoza wasted no time making himself at home. In his BBA debut at-bat, Mendoza lined a single into rightfield and followed up with an opposite field 3 run homer blast with an exit velocity of 115.6 MPH in the 4th inning. Proving it wasn’t beginner’s luck, Mendoza took his talents to Yellow Springs and collected three hits in four at-bats as one of Nashville’s lone bright spots. The rookie ended his first professional week hitting safely in all six games and slashing .429/.478/.619.

Looks like it. Mendoza on pace to be the best baseball player of all-time. I 100% expect these numbers to continue, but could do better than 1 HR every 6 games.
